Lil Yachty is weighing on Drake‘s rap tussle with Kendrick Lamar and sharing his thoughts on the outcome.
In what appears to be a recently released episode of Yachty’s podcast, ‘A Safe Space,’ obtained by The Shade Room, the rapper candidly spoke about the recent rap beef.
Yachty began his thoughts by saying that Lamar “clearly” had “a lot more animosity” toward Drake. Additionally, he stated that it was felt in “every” one of his disses.
“… Drake dropped great records. But also, let’s be fair, Drake was deemed a loser in this battle before it started,” he said. “Because people don’t like him and haven’t, and he’s won for a very long time.”
As the conversation continued, Yachty explained that he believes Drake “still sits at the top of the throne.”
“Even if opinionated masses think Kendrick won, I don’t think that people are gonna stop listening to Drake,” he continued.
Before concluding on the matter, Yachty explained that he told Drake that he doesn’t feel like he “won or lost” in the battle against Lamar.
“Like, rappers have lost and then lost everything,” he said. “Like maybe not lost their money… but it was just like never looked at the same, and I don’t think that this has happened to Drake.”
All in all, Yachty believes that Lamar “made very smart moves” and doesn’t think Drake himself would even disagree.
