Back in June, New York musician, Lil Tjay was unfortunately shot several times, causing him to have emergency surgery. On Wednesday, Tjay posted to social media for the first time since the shooting, to thank those who have been showing love and support to him throughout the whole process.
In a video posted to his Instagram account, Tjay could be seen wearing a neck brace and hoodie, as he says,
“I just want to say, thanks for the love, thanks for the support. I’ve been looking at the DMs, the comments, and everything else, and I feel loved. Seven shots, it was tough you know, most people don’t survive it, but I’m here. I’m here for a reason. New music coming soon, we gon come back stronger than ever man.”
As previously reported, back in June it was reported that Tjay was taken into emergency surgery after he was shot in New Jersey. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office later released details about the shooting, and it was revealed that Tjay was a victim of an armed robbery.
It was reported that Mohamed Konate of New York tried to rob Tjay and two other people a part of his team. The other members of his team were later identified as Jeffrey Valdez and Antoine Boyd. When authorities arrived at the scene, Tjay was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and Boyd suffered from a single gunshot wound.
As a result of the shooting, Konate faced charges that included three counts of first-degree attempted murder and three counts of first-degree armed robbery for the shooting. He also faced second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree certain persons not to possess a firearm, and fourth-degree aggravated assault.
Valdez and Boyd were each charged with second-degree unlawful weapon possession.
Tjay received support from many of his peers across the industry, including Frech Montana, who explained why rappers have some of the hardest jobs.
We continue to wish Lil Tjay a speedy recovery.
