Lil Nas X Responds To Nike Lawsuit With ‘Spongebob’ Meme

Roommates, as the fallout from Lil Nas X’s new video and accompanying shoe design continue to make waves, he just responded after Nike took severe action regarding his shoe collaboration. In response to Nike officially filing a lawsuit against the designers behind his “Satan Shoes,” Lil Nas X posted a ‘Spongebob’ meme on social media to show just how unbothered he is by the situation.

Lil Nas X has spent the last few days vigorously going back and forth with critics on social media who have voiced their disapproval with his video “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” and the Nike “Satan Shoes” that go along with his new music rollout. There has been widespread outrage, especially over the shoe, and Nike quickly stepped in to make sure that everyone knows that had nothing to do with it.

Just hours after denying that the company had any part in the production of the shoe, Nike filed a formal lawsuit against MSCHF, the company Lil Nas X partnered with to create the shoe. As expected, Lil Nas hopped on Twitter and posted a viral ‘Spongebob’ meme poking fun at the lawsuit.

As we previously reported, according to the documents obtained by TMZ, Nike claims MSCHF is tricking consumers into thinking it approved the Satan-themed shoes, but Nike insists it didn’t authorize the production or sale of the shoe and “is in no way connected with this project.”

Nike also says that MSCHF buys the shoes from Nike, then the artists the company works with put their own designs on the products before selling them at a higher price.
