Lil Mama Makes Her Return To The Breakfast Club!

Back in 2011, Lil Mama visited the Breakfast Club where she got emotional while speaking about her mother who had recently passed away of colon cancer. On top of that, Shady Charlamagne kept hounding her about what she had been doing if she wasn’t putting out music and was just coming for her life! But that was okay, because the rapper visited the old crew this morning where she updated us on what she’s been up to lately.
As far as music goes, Lil Mama is not impressed with industry veterans not taking the time to groom up and coming artists! “In this industry, I’ve got a problem with a couple of things. A lot of vets don’t really tell people, especially my generation, what’s really good. Nobody is really saying, ‘Yo, that’s trash! What are y’all doing?'” What she is getting at is that artist development has become a thing of the past! There seems to be no type of accountability for the craft anymore, but that is definitely something she is challenging herself to do which is why she’s so passionate about working with kids.
Lil Mama has gone back to her roots as “The Voice of the Young People” as she calls herself. Unlike her previous years in business, traveling back and forth, Lil Mama stayed put, making it easier for her to be able to reach out to kids in her neighborhood. “We put a lot of work in 2015 giving back to the community,” she said. “I feel like I was able to put my feet back into the soil in the city and really work with young people.” They were able to get talent showcases together, discussions and events at churches as well!
This young lady is living with zero regrets and says that, “I feel like everything I’ve been through is apart of who I am right now. It’s all apart of my growth.” Her interview serves as an example of what you can overcome despite people, who may or may not be sitting to the right of you, say and think of you! Ever since Charlamagne came for her, she’s been blessing others by doing community outreach and playing Left-Eye on the TLC biopic, so she’s winning in my eyes!
