Recently Lil Mama made some comments concerning the LGBTQ community that didn’t sit well with some people. During an Instagram Live she said, “When it comes to people who choose to be Gay or choose to be Lesbian or choose to change their sexuality and have the mind frame of an adult, and you’re able to do that on your own, I don’t have anything against you. But when we’re talking about these babies, we have to be very mindful about what they’re being fed.”
As previously reported, Lil Mama clarified that she supports that LGBTQ community, and also has family members that are a part of the community, and that she is not trying to hurt anyone when she speaks. She was just sharing her opinion, and feels like someone shouldn’t be able to choose their sexuality until they have the mind frame of an adult, and are able to do so on their own.
Jackée Harry took to Twitter to indirectly share her opinion about the situation.
She said, “The lip gloss was never really that poppin’.”
As many of you know, Lil Mama’s breakout hit single was “Lip Gloss,” which was released back in 2008. In the song she raps, “They say my lip gloss is cool/ My lip gloss be poppin’/ I’m standin’ at my locker/ And all the boys keep stopping.”
Jackée continued to tweet, “Be true to yourself. You were made perfectly. I love you for who you truly are.”
Once Lil Mama caught wind of what was said, she responded to Jackée and said:
