“Wanna bumble with the Bee, huh?” Whew! Last night was the 2021 BET Awards, and it was lit! As always, there’s always a shocking moment that nobody expects. Earlier tonight, Cardi B revealed that she and her husband Offset were expecting their second child together. However, that wasn’t the only big announcement that happened! Lil Kim dropped a bombshell of her own while on the BET Awards preshow red carpet.
There’s been a lot of talk about who should go up against the Queen Bee in a Verzuz battle. As we previously reported, Trina said that she would be down to go up against the Brooklyn native. In this go-round, Kim let us know live and direct who she wanted the smoke with. Speaking with DJ Envy, he asked, “Now I have to ask, right now alright, I’m not gonna say who against but, would you do a Verzuz?” Kim quickly responded,” Yes.” Envy asked Kim who she would go against, and surprising, she said, “Nicki.” Envy clarified what he heard, and she said Nicki Minaj’s name once more.
Immediately after, the innanet was on fire. Some of everyone had something to say about Kim’s declaration. One Twitter user tweeted, “Lil Kim said she would do a Verzuz with Nicki. Now that would be the best one yet.” Another tweeted, “Let’s be clear, Lil Kim got HITS but doesn’t negate the fact that Nicki would clear.” Nicki and Kim coming together for a Verzuz would be one for the books after their long-standing beef.
The beef goes all the way back to 2007 when Kim called out Nicki via Twitter over similar music cover artwork, however, Kim has addressed the beef in recent years. According to Real 92.3, Kim said in 2018 during an interview, “God bless her. I wish her the best. I’m past that I’m over it,” Kim said.” She did what she did until she’s ready. Hopefully, God puts it on her mind to do the right thing because she knows what she did. Once that happens. Hopefully, everyone will stop asking me [about Nicki].”
