Lil Kim has always been known as a trendsetter in the music industry for her music. Aside from that, she has also been known as a trendsetter when it comes to fashion.
With that being said, she has never shied away from incorporating fur into her iconic wardrobe.
However, on Tuesday, she was approached by a group of anti-fur protesters in New York City while she was making her promotional rounds. The group greeted her as she arrived at the BUILD Studios in Manhattan. In the video, a woman can be seen screaming at Lil Kim, while she is holding up a sign and demanding that Kim stops wearing fur.
Nonetheless, Kim did not back down and started to charge towards the woman. Luckily, Kim was surrounded by security and remained unharmed as they escorted her away.
With many years in the game, Lil Kim has created multiple iconic looks, even some that included fur. In the music video for her 1996 hit single “Crush On You,” she was spotted rocking different color furs. She would later go on to rock other iconic looks that would incorporate fur.
While inside of the Build Studio’s Lil Kim sat down for an interview to talk about her career and her upcoming album.
She is also currently celebrating her “I Am Hip-Hop,” Award, which she was honored with at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards.
Roommates, what are your thoughts?
