Lil Baby has been using the money he received from his record, “The Bigger Picture,” to do good. He announced last month via Twitter that he would be using the proceeds for the community. Baby tweeted, “I got 1.5 million dollars to donate off of ‘The Bigger Picture.’ I want the money to go where it’s needed.” He continued, “I don’t want to donate to just any organization, but I will be letting my fans know exactly where the money goes. Lawyers, Bonds, Play Grounds, Jobs, youth activities, things that WE can really benefit off of.”
Today he came out to celebrate the birthday of Gianna Floyd. Gianna is the daughter of the late George Floyd. Lil Baby didn’t just show up, he funded her 7th birthday party, according to Forbes. The somewhat socially distanced, L.O.L dolls-themed event took place at Atlanta’s Pink Hotel. Some of the attendees included were the children of Rayshard Brooks and the children of rappers Future as well as Lil Baby’s own children. Former NBA player Stephen Jackson, who was George Floyd’s best friend, was also in attendance.
Since July, the family and friends of Gianna planned the event to make sure the celebration would be grand. When Gianna visited family friends and restaurant owners, Ericka and William Platt of Restaurant ‘Ten and Rosie’s Café,’ they brainstormed with Stephen to execute the party. Ericka spoke to Forbes about Baby’s involvement and his song, ‘The Bigger Picture.’ Ericka said, “The song is really about supporting children who lost their parents to violence. Lil Baby decided to sponsor Gianna’s birthday party and has been very supportive. We are very grateful for that.”
Baby shared videos from the party on Instagram. Gianna also shared a photo on Instagram with her and Baby. She captioned the photo, “L.o.l Surprise Birthday Party. Thank you so much, Lil Baby, for coming and help me celebrate my 7th Birthday.”
