The price just went up! Lil Baby keeps receiving so many accolades and he’s going to have to up his “200 ah occasion.” Outside of making changes in his community, he continues to excel in the music industry. With the huge success of his ‘My Turn’ album that dropped in 2020, that album broke many records. The album was certified RIAA three times platinum, earned him a few GRAMMY nominations, and was named RIAA‘s top album for 2020. Baby has definitely solidified his spot in the rap game and keeps elevating.
Baby is adding another huge accomplishment to his list. It was announced that he was honored as this year’s recipient of the ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers) ‘Songwriter Of The Year’ at the 2021 ‘ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards.’ He is in good company as he follows other great artists like Cardi B, who received the award the past two years, and Gucci Mane and Quavo tied for the award in 2018.
When it comes to music that makes an impact, y’all can’t leave out ‘The Bigger Picture.’ This record single-handedly was a part of the soundtrack for social justice. As several protests occurred last year in the wake of George Floyd’s death, that song, along with the music video, added fuel to the movement. Baby was very vocal about how he planned to donate $1.5 million from the record to community organizations last November. As we previously reported, the Bail Project, the National Association of Black Journalists, and Breonna Taylor’s legal team received funding on Baby’s behalf!
Recently Baby and Lil Durk dropped their joint album, ‘The Voice Of The Heroes,’ which debuted at number one. It seems like anything Baby touches turns to gold.
Congratulations on this huge accomplishment Lil Baby. We can’t wait to see what you do next!
