Not sure how TLC fans will feel about this one but Lifetime is set on telling the love story between Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes and former NFL star Andre Rison in a new docuseries to air this week.
Their relationship made headlines back in the 90s and will be chronicled in Lifetime’s “Hopelessly In Love,” which will give an in-depth look at celebrities who were in tumultuous high-profile relationships that we remember to this day, according to Essence.
Left Eye and Andre’s relationship, which will be featured in the first episode of the series, is probably best remembered for the time Left Eye burned down the home they shared following a chaotic fight.
“I was deeply in love. It was dope,” Andre Rison says in the show’s trailer. “She came by the house and never left.”
You can watch the trailer below:
Rison’s infidelities contributed to the couple’s major issues. Left Eye and Andre dated in the early 1990s. Despite the major incident, the couple overcame their struggles and planned to get married in the early 2000s before Left Eye’s untimely death in 2002.
Other couples that will be featured in the docuseries include the relationships between Faith Evans and Notorious B.I.G and Anna Nicole Smith’s relationship with Larry Birkhead.
The series premieres on Saturday, January 4th at 9:30 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
