Roommates, it seems that the iconic life and tragic death of Whitney Houston is a very popular topic in Hollywood—as yet another project documenting her career is on the way. Lifetime just dropped the official trailer for its upcoming documentary about Whitney Houston and her late daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown.
The documentary “Whitney Houston & Bobbi Kristina: Didn’t We Almost Have It All,” features interviews from several people close to Whitney and Bobbi Kristina, including producer Randy Jackson and former close friend Perri “Pebbles” Reid, who reveals that “this is the first time I’ve ever spoken about Whitney.”
Sadly, the film also chronicles parallels between Whitney and Bobbi Kristina’s tragic deaths. You’ll recall that Whitney Houston was found dead in her Beverly Hills hotel room on February 11, 2012, submerged in a bathtub. Just three years later in January 2015, Bobbi Kristina was also found unconscious in a bathtub at her Georgia home. She died six months later of lobar pneumonia. The documentary also features claims that both mother and daughter suffered from addiction.
The project is described as follows:
“The two-hour documentary presents an in-depth look at the parallel lives of renowned singer Whitney Houston and her daughter Bobbi Kristina. Both faced similar struggles — living in the shadow of their famous mothers, criticized for their love choices and often used for their fame and fortune…and both turned to drugs and alcohol for relief from the pressures of being in the spotlight, before prematurely leaving the Earth in the same tragic way. In an emotional and candid look at the ups and downs of their personal stories, and a celebration of their lives, ‘Whitney Houston & Bobbi Kristina’ offers intimate conversations with the friends and family that were closest to them.”
“Whitney Houston & Bobbi Kristina: Didn’t We Almost Have It All” premieres on Lifetime Saturday, February 6th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
