This past weekend Empire co-creator and show runner Lee Daniels stepped away from his position as director for the highly anticipated Richard Pryor biopic.
Unfortunately, due to his scheduling Daniels has parted ways with The Weinstein Company. Production on the film has already been delayed because of Daniels commitments to his hit Fox scripted series “Empire”.
Recently, Fox picked up his latest project “Stars”, which received a full season. His involvement with the new scripted series will only delay the films production even longer.
With Mike Epps, Oprah Winfrey and Eddie Murphy already confirmed for the film, fans have been waiting for production to start.
It’s being reported by Deadline that many directors have already put themselves out there to direct the film. Production for the film is expected to begin in October
