Recently NBA star LeBron James made a $2.5 million dollar donation ton support the Muhammad Ali exhibit at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
Now he is teaming up with Maverick Carter to produce a multi-part documentary on the legendary boxer for HBO.
According to USA Today, the announcement was made earlier this week and James said in a news release, “It’s tough to put into words how much it means to me to be a part of this project honoring the legacy and telling the extremely important story of the great Muhammad Ali.”
The Ali family is in full support of this project as it promises a cinematic recreation of Ali’s most legendary encounters, as well as never before seen footage and photos.
Lonnie Ali, Muhammad Ali’s widow said, “We are at a perfect time in history, and in our lives as Americans, to welcome this special documentary on Muhammad with LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Entertainment and HBO.”
No official air date has been released at this time.
Roommates will you be tuned in?
