Former NBA player, Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis recently reacted to the 40-month prison sentence he was handed on Thursday (May 9).
The Associated Press reports, he was sentenced for defrauding the NBA’s insurance plan.

Details Of Davis’ Sentence
Big Baby was given his sentence to the pen in November. The 38-year-old was found guilty of wire fraud, health care fraud and conspiracy. He was also hit with conspiracy to make false statements. Davis will be supervised for three years upon release. Additionally, he must pay $80,000 in restitution. Glens’ lawyer, Sabrin Shroff, declined to comment on his sentence.
In addition to Davis, there were 20 others convicted, including former Detroit Piston, Will Bynum. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison and three years of probation. Furthermore, he has to pay $182,224 in restitution.
Glen Cracks Jokes About Prison Sentence
TMZ reports, Glen took to social media and appeared unfazed in a video as he joked, “I’m bout to be so swoll though. I swear to God, I’m ’bout to be in so much shape.” He stated going to jail was, “the only way to stop [him] from eating hamburgers.”
The former baller joked that God allowed him to go to prison so he would stop eating “Cheetos.”
Prior to that, he quipped that he would “have to choke the chicken in the bathroom” and use his “imagination” to get through the prison sentence.
How Did He Commit Fraud?
New York prosecutors stated Glen scammed the organization’s insurance for NBA players and their families. They claim he walked away with over $5 million. He submitted fake medical claims to the NBA Player’s Health and Benefit Welfare Plan. According to the prosecutor, medical professionals also willingly participated. Dentists and doctors worked with the scammers to create false invoices that were submitted for reimbursement.

The power forward played for the Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic, and Los Angeles Clippers during his tenure in the NBA. He notably assisted the Celtics in capturing an NBA title in 2008.
