Chile! Latto had social media in a tizzy after she released her new song, ‘BIg Mama’ on Friday, June 28.
Latto initially teased ‘Big Mama’ earlier this month, sharing a quick snippet of the music video on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The rapper’s single and visuals dropped on Friday, sparking a buzz on social media with users noting that it felt like something Drake would release. ‘Big Mama’ kicks off with Latto singing and rapping about an unnamed boo that she can’t get enough of. The track then shifts gears as her flow intensifies, delivering aggressive verses over a trap-like beat.
Many social media users quickly pointed out Drake’s apparent influence on the record. Shortly after Latto’s record dropped, one X user @ovosojay1 wrote, “Drake’s influence in the culture is UNMATCHED.” Latto quickly responded to the post by saying, “Drake the goat.”
The Roomies wasted no time expressing their views on Latto’s statement in The Shade Room comment section. Several social media users argued that Drake should be acknowledged despite his rap beef with Kendrick Lamar.
Instagram user @littleladyd wrote, “Acting like Drake ain’t had a major influence on hip hop because Kendrick dissed him is high key delusional 😂”
Instagram user @mkfan86 wrote, “She not like us either. Next caller.”
While Instagram user @mzladyj3 wrote, “It sound more like 21 than Drake to me🤷🏽♀️!!”
Then Instagram user @iykyk.iydknyk wrote, “Them mixed breeds stick together.”
Another Instagram user @apollotheartist wrote, “Drake is definitely the goat at making a song a hit whether he writes it or not. Can’t deny the man that.”
Finally Instagram user @justjohne wrote, “Can’t wait til yall get off the Drake hate train lol.”
