We recently reported on Lamar Odom taking the initiative to check himself into a 30 day rehab program. Prior to that, Lamar had his first sit down interview since his almost fatal overdose last year.
In a sneak peek of the interview, Lamar sits with The Doctors’ Travis Stork and opens up about his near death experience.
If you remember, Lamar was immediately hospitalized after he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel.
“What was your last memory before waking up in the hospital?” Stork asks him.
“Being in that damn brothel and thinking I was going to just rest a little bit,” Lamar responds. “I wasn’t in a good place mentally before the incident happened. Me and my wife at the the time [Khloe Kardashian] were going through some things. I was in a dark place.”
Lamar continued on to say that “everything happens for a reason,” and that he’s still here so he can tell his story.
The former NBA player was reportedly in a coma for three days following his hospitalization.
“I didn’t know until Khloe told me that I was in a coma,” he said. “I couldn’t even speak at the time. I couldn’t talk. Nothing would come out, and I would open my mouth, so I was scared.”
A clip of this interview airs Friday, and the full interview, including an update following his discharge will air in January.
