Actor LaKeith Stanfield and his new wife, Kasmere Trice Stanfield, have officially revealed their union and new baby to the world. As The Shade Room previously reported, the couple’s news arrives months after Tylor Hurd accused Stanfield of being absent after fathering a “secret” child with her.
The actor and his wife exclusively revealed news of their union and new baby to PEOPLE. In an article published Wednesday, the actor explained the couple’s decision to keep their pregnancy and baby’s birth private.
“We decided early on we wanted to protect our baby as much as we can for as long as possible,” Kasmere Trice Stanfield explained to the outlet.
Stanfield continued by sharing that “being in the public eye” can be “very hard” on someone. Additionally, she explained that she and her husband feel certain things need to be “sacred” and not for public “consumption.”
“Being in the public eye can be something that’s amazing, but it can also be something that is very hard on you. There needs to be things that exist that are sacred and not for consumption for everybody.”
Additionally, the actor’s wife opened up about why they decided now was the right time to share the news with the world.
“We want to be the ones to tell our story. We’re bringing our family forward so we may inspire others.”
During the interview, however, the Stanfields reportedly chose to “withhold” their baby’s name and gender.
Kasmere Trice Stanfield also candidly reflected on her husband’s relationship with his two eldest daughters. According to PEOPLE, both of Stanfield’s daughters “from past relationships” are under the age of seven.
“I’m really honored that I got to see the father in [him] before I was even having our baby,” she explained.
Before concluding the interview, the actor shared his love for the “beautiful family” and his desire to spend the rest of his life with his new wife.
“We’ve manifested this beautiful family,” he told the outlet. “I want to spend the rest of my life with her.”
As The Shade Room previously reported, the actor proposed to Kasmere Trice in December 2022. The engagement reportedly took place while the pair were vacationing on an island ahead of Trice’s birthday, as per PEOPLE.
However, a woman named Tylor Hurd soon after accused Stanfield of fathering a “secret” child with her. Additionally, she blasted the actor for allegedly being absent from the child’s life and spending more time with his then-fiancee.
Hurd’s Instagram profile seemingly reveals that the alleged “secret” child was born around March 2022.
At the time, Hurd also shared a reel on Instagram, proclaiming that she “decided to leave being someone’s secret family in 2022.” Additionally, she shared her daughter’s name, Apollo Stanfield.
Before dropping the matter, Hurd reportedly took to her Instagram Story to further explain her thoughts.
“Just to clear a few things up I’m not jealous that’s [sic] he’s engaged to a woman he’s known for 5 months. I tried to meet the girl and everything and she ignored me when i tried. what I’m upset about is that he made more time to spend with this woman than he’s spent with Apollo her whole life and has been actively ignoring me when I’m trying to figure things out for our child. Those clips of him and her together are all I have in general cause he barely sees her.”
At the time, Stanfield did not respond to Hurd’s accusations, nor has he addressed them publicly to date.
