Lady Gaga recently posted a video cheering on Simone Biles during her balance beam routine on July 28. The singer took to social media to show how Biles STILL ate the girls up while performing on an injured leg.
The 38-year-old posted the clip to her Instagram feed. The text over the footage reads, “She nailed it. What an honor to be so close.” In the footage, Lady Gaga cheered as Simone prepared to mount the beam. As the Olympian executed her routine, the crowd ‘oohed’ and ‘ahhed.’ Additionally, someone can be heard saying, “Wow, wow, wow” after she completed a backhand spring.
Furthermore, the crowd went crazy when Biles stuck her landing and continued to cheer as she high-fived her teammates. Gaga seemingly let out a little scream at the end of the clip!
CNN reports Biles fought through a leg injury during her performance and showed exactly why she is considered the GOAT. Simone’s overall score was 59.566, which is currently the highest amongst the gymnasts.
Her coach, Cecile Landi, revealed the 27-year-old had been managing calf pain leading up to the Olympic Games. Discomfort hit her again on the day of the competition. “She felt a little something in her calf. But yeah, that’s all,” Landi told reporters.
Additionally, she stated there were no current concerns that Simone would be unable to compete for the duration of the Games. When Biles was asked if she was okay after she competed, she replied, “Yup! As good as I can be.”
