Kylie Jenner is reflecting on her postpartum weight loss journey while addressing speculation that she’s used Ozempic.
Jenner recently sat down for an interview with British Vogue, which was published on Tuesday, August 13. During the conversation, the 26-year-old explained that she weighed 200 pounds when she gave birth to her and Travis Scott’s daughter, Stormi, in 2018.
Furthermore, Jenner revealed that she also weighed 200 pounds when she gave birth to their son, Aire, in 2022.
“I was 200 pounds when I gave birth to my 9 pound babies: 8.3 and 8.9,” she told the outlet. “I finally lost all the baby weight after my daughter and then got pregnant with my son two months later.”
Jenner explained that after she gained the weight back with their son, she did her weightloss journey “all over again.” However, she feels that people didn’t give her enough “empathy.”
“And I felt in shape and it was working out, and then I got pregnant and did it all over again. I feel like people didn’t give me, or give women in general, enough empathy,” she said.
Instead, Jenner said they accused her of being on “drugs or something.”In response, the reporter asked, “You mean they mistakenly think you were taking Ozempic, or some such?” Jenner reportedly replied, “Yeah.”
“I’m back at my weight I was before I had my daughter and son and people are putting side by sides of me three months postpartum,” she said. “I’m like: ‘Does everyone forget that I had two children and I gained 60 pounds both pregnancies?'”
According to her responses, it appears that reality TV is denying using any weight loss drugs after having children.
Elsewhere during the conversation, Jenner reflected on her motherhood experience thus far. Most specifically, she noted that she was 19 years old when she became pregnant with Stormi.
“I was 19 when I got pregnant, 20 when I had her… It didn’t hit me [straight away]. But it was a huge life change,” she explained.
Additionally, she shared that she experienced postpartum depression with both of her pregnancies, and now she’s “finally feeling” like herself again.
“Stormi’s lasted a year,” she said. “I’m going to be 27, and I’m finally feeling like myself again, and [looking back] I think, being pregnant… I didn’t have time to figure out even some of the little things in my life, and then postpartum lasted a year. Mentally, it’s really hard. Hormonally, it’s really hard.”
Nonetheless, Jenner explained that motherhood is “everything” to her.
“No matter what I’m going through or what I look like or what the internet writes about me that day, I come home and my kids just love me unconditionally,” she said. “They’re just obsessed with me and that’s taught me to walk through life a little easier. I’m like, ‘OK, well I have these little humans at home that need me and love me and think I’m the most perfect person in the world, so I don’t really need validation from outside sources.”
Jenner isn’t the only celebrity to recently open up about Ozempic. As The Shade Room previously reported, Kandi Burruss confirmed her use of the diabetes-turned-weight-loss medication in June.
Then, in July, Jenner’s sister, Khloé Kardashian, shared her thoughts on the weight loss drug days before singer Macy Gray publicly revealed her usage of the medication.
“Quietly, I’m kind of a vain person. I’ve gained a lot of weight over the past couple years…” she reportedly said while appearing on ‘The Surreal Life’. “So, I thought, okay, I’m not taking [the weight] off the right way, let me see if I can get one of these Ozempic.”
While speaking on the drug, Gray also spoke about its side effects.
