KRISTEN STEWART ON HOLLYWOOD DIVERSITY: “INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING, DO SOMETHING”

Remember Kristen Stewart from Twilight, she played Bella, the Saga’s star… Well, she too has something to say about Hollywood’s diversity problem.

She says that instead of complaining people should “go do something, go write something” when she spoke to Variety Magazine in an interview to promote her new film. “In any business that’s so old, it’s gonna have a somewhat narrow view,” she said. “I’m lucky and not bored. It’s weird for me to sit around saying ‘it’s not fair.’ “Guys make more money because their movies make more money, it makes sense.”

Though she didn’t really refer to any particular gender or racial group it seems like she was speaking in response to the conversation being held about the state of Hollywood. We can’t help but wonder if she has any idea of how inaccessible “doing something” is when you’re a part of the underrepresented group. She says that the subject, most likely diversity, is so prevalent everywhere right now and it’s so boring.

Roommates, should black Hollywood take her advice and go do something about them not being appreciated and honored like they should be?
