#Roommates, it looks like #KimoraLeeSimmons husband #TIimLeissner has pled guilty to a Malaysian money laundering scandal that involved him and two other businessmen.
According to @WWD, Leissner pled guilty to conspiracy to launder money and violate foreign anti-bribery laws. He allegedly bribed officials in Malaysia and Abu Dhabi. Leissner was reportedly subpoenaed by the United States Justice Department after they noticed that billions of dollars had disappeared from a Malaysian government wealth fund.
Kimora has not publicly addressed her husband’s guilty plea. Tim is ordered to turn over $43.7M according to court documents. Apparently, last year Kimora was asked if Tim was an investor in her many businesses to which she’s responded: “I’ve been around for quite some time. I’m an old lady so I’ve always been self-sustaining, self-funded. I’ve had Baby Phat and at one point Phat Farm, too. I’ve had Couture by Kimora, Fabulosity, KLS so this is not my first ride at the rodeo. I’ve had six or seven successful fragrances.”
News like this is never easy to report but we wish the Simmons/Leissner family well!
