Kids2 Is Recalling All Its Rocking Sleepers After 5 Infant Fatalities Reported

#Kids2 has recalled all models of its rocking sleepers today after five infant fatalities in the sleepers were reported, according to @CNN.

The recall affects nearly 700,000 products sold under brands including Bright Starts, Ingenuity and Disney Baby. Kids2 introduced the rocking sleepers back in March 2012 and since then, five infant deaths have occurred “after the infants rolled from their back to their stomach while unrestrained, or under other circumstances.”

Those sleepers were sold by major retailers that include #Walmart, #Target and the former #ToysRUs, according to the announcement from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Parents have been urged to immediately stop using Kids2 sleepers and contact Kids2 toll-free at 1-866-869-7954 or visit www.kids2.com for a refund or a voucher.

The announcement comes after a similar recall of Fisher-Price’s Rock ‘n Play sleepers. The popular product was linked to more than 30 infant deaths in 10 years. That recall affected about 4.7 million sleepers, according to officials.

The company issued a recall summary urging consumers to stop using the sleepers immediately.

“Infant fatalities have occurred in Rock ‘n Play Sleepers, after the infants rolled from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained, or under other circumstances,” a CPSC statement read.

The American Academy of Pediatrics pushed for the recall, citing a new Consumer Report that found a total of 32 deaths linked to the sleeper since 2015.

Despite the company’s thought that the deaths could have been linked to parents misuse of the devices, the staggering increase since the 10th infant death reported one month ago has proven the devices are indeed faulty.
