Khloé Kardashian is opening up about whether she’d rekindle a romance with the father of her children, Tristan Thompson. According to PEOPLE, the 38-year-old shared her thoughts on a recent episode of ‘The Kardashians’ while conversing with her mother, Kris Jenner.
According to the outlet, Kardashian explained that she and Thompson currently “get along great.”
“Tristan and I, we always get along great. Him and I have a great friendship relationship, we get along fine, and for my kids, I will put anything to the side.”
Kardashian explained that despite their past relationship ordeals, she doesn’t need to move forward by “punishing” him. The 38-year-old then ended her statement by saying that she is “not getting back with him.”
“What’s done is done, so what would I still be holding on to something for? I don’t need to ‘punish’ him because I’m not getting back with him.”
Kardashian continued the conversation by explaining that although she and Tristan are on “great” terms, they don’t spend time together without their children.
“There’s still boundaries, I’m definitely putting my foot down around a lot of things. No one’s just here chilling if there’s no kids involved.”
Additionally, Kardashian explained why these “boundaries” with Thompson are “so important.”
“These boundaries are so important to put into place with Tristan because we’ve done this song and dance a handful of times already. I’ve gotten back with him after a cheating scandal so I don’t know if Tristan is under the impression, ‘Oh wow, OK, let’s just ride this out and eventually she’ll get back with me.’ I get why he would think that, so it’s my job to set boundaries that my actions show otherwise…”
The 38-year-old mother of two then ended the conversation by explaining that she keeps things “very short and sweet” with Thompson. She believes this will always remind him that their relationship is “always about the kids.”
Lastly, she explained that although “it’s so easy to fall back into” her and Thompson’s past, she “can’t let those old habits easily come into” her life.
“I can’t let those old habits easily come into my life. It’s just not what I want.”
