Whew chile, where do we even begin? We’re barely halfway through Black History Month and another questionable decision has made its way to the forefront. Popular fast food chicken chain KFC has officially teamed up with comfy shoe-maker Crocs for a limited edition pair of fried chicken Crocs. Yes, you read that right…and yes, they’re real.
Fashion is definitely all about expression and what looks good to one person may not look good to another. @Cosmopolitan reports, the first fashion collaboration between KFC and Crocs was announced earlier this week and it features a limited edition pair of unisex clogs that will be available for purchase this spring and retail for $59.99.
However, that’s not all. The red-and-white soles of the clogs are supposed to resemble KFC’s fried chicken bucket. You can also decorate your clogs with chicken-scented “jibbitz”—which are decorative attachments you can insert into the front of the shoe for a little extra drip.
The clogs are available in the traditional Crocs version and a sassy new platform style, for those of you who really want to stunt on your friends.
Terence Reilly, Crocs Senior Vice President, had this to say about the new collaboration:
“As Crocs continues to create new, unexpected brand collaborations, we’re thrilled with this ‘bucket list’ partnership with Kentucky Fried Chicken that will bring fans an unbelievably fun and fashionable take on our classic clog.”
So all you fashionistas, save up your coins and keep an ear out to find out the official release date.
Roommates, what are your thoughts on this?
