#Roommates, Kevin McCall found himself in very familiar circumstances after he was recently arrested at an Atlanta courthouse following an altercation with a local police officer. He recently made his first court appearance amidst issues surrounding his bond fees and attorney’s disappearance.
Earlier this week, Kevin McCall was arrested at Atlanta’s Fulton County courthouse for live-streaming inside the building just before his child custody proceedings over daughter Marley Rae, that he shares with “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Eva Marcille. The problem is that recording of any kind is prohibited inside of the courthouse without permission, which he didn’t have.
Before he was instructed to stop recording, a deputy can be heard telling Kevin, “you can’t record in this building.” Things quickly escalated into a physical altercation as deputies said he refused to comply, then got physical with them, resulting in tumbling down an escalator and breaking one of the deputy’s eye-glasses. Kevin was charged with criminal damage to property, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, and simple assault.
During his first court appearance on the charges after spending the night in jail, a judge increased his bond to $11,500, a $2,000 increased from the initial $9,500 because Kevin claimed he was a gang member. His private attorney also never showed up to court and he was assigned a public defender instead.
The judge had this to say during the court proceedings regarding Kevin’s case:
“From recent training that we’ve had, I have a concern with one of the warrants. What does concern me is the terroristic threat misdemeanor charge. That clearly is something that we are looking at closely in Georgia, regarding gang membership.”
His next court date has been set for November 20th.
Roommates, what are your thoughts on this?
