Congratulations are in order for Keshia Knight Pulliam and her husband Brad James! The couple recently welcomed their first child together, a baby boy!
Keshia Knight Pulliam celebrated her 44th birthday on April 9. The actor took to Instagram to share that her birthday week ended up being more “eventful” than she thought it would. Then revealed that she had recently given birth to her and James’ first child together.
The actor shared a short video showing a few moments before the gave birth. She also wrote a short caption to accompany the clip.
“With this little one we are complete… Happy Birthday to me!!! What an eventful birthday week… Thank you for the birthday wishes!!”
Pulliam also included a family photo as the video’s cover image. it featured herself, James, her 6-year-old daughter Ella, whom she shares with her ex Ed Hartwell, and the newborn — whose name has not yet been revealed.
As The Shade Room previously reported, the couple revealed their pregnancy during an appearance at the Tamron Hall Show in December. Pulliam unveiled her baby bump by uploading a short video to her Instagram page.
“Oh Baby Baby!! Baby James coming 2023!!”
During the actor’s interview with Hall, she explained why she decided to keep the news private up until that point.
“Not that I’ve been trying to hide it but when you’ve had a miscarriage — when you’ve gone through his journey — you want to just enjoy this moment and want to make sure that everything is okay. So, we haven’t been hiding it. I’ve been walking, and doing and living life. But in terms of making an announcement, we just haven’t done that.”
However, finally sharing the news left Pulliam feeling good.
“It feels good because I know so many people have gone on this journey with us.”
During an interview with E! News earlier that month, Pulliam candidly talked about her fertility journey up until her pregnancy. She explained that she even considered freezing her eggs in 2020. However, the decision was halted by the onset of COVID-19.
“I was 41 at the time and knew that I wanted another kid, but I knew that it wasn’t right now. I began the process of freezing my eggs and then literally the day that I was supposed to start my meds is when, as a result of the pandemic, they shut down all elective medical procedures. So, I was unable to continue. It’s crazy that preserving your right and your ability to have a baby is considered elective. It shouldn’t. It should be an option that’s given to all women.”
Congratulations to Keshia Knight Pulliam and Brad James on their new bundle of joy!
