Kendrick Lamar has been on a high as he continues to celebrate the success of his sophomore album, “To Pimp A Butterfly.” After dominating the rap categories at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards, Kendrick will have the honor to induct legendary rap group N.W.A into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!
Last year Kendrick talked to Billboard about the group and said, “They tapped into kids in the streets who never had anything or anyone speak up for them. N.W.A gave voice to the voiceless. So now they become different kinds of heroes to me — heroes carrying messages breaking through to the wider world, heroes not only with big hearts, but probing, intelligent minds.”
It’s more than obvious that N.W.A has had a big impact on Kendrick’s career. Like the group Kendrick continues to spread awareness and speak for those without a voice through his music.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony takes place April 8th in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center.
