Chile, these folks want their money! Kendall Jenner has been ordered to pay $90,000 for her involvement with the Fyre Festival.
According to Forbes, this comes after trustees worked to recoup the money for investors, lenders, and attendees of the 2017 Fyre Festival that never happened.
Jenner’s involvement with the festival is that of an Instagram post in which she reportedly earned $275,000, but did not disclose that information, when posting to her account.
According to court documents, she reportedly also received an additional $25,000 after the post went live.
“So hyped to announce my G.O.O.D Music Family as the first headliners for @fyrefestival,” Jenner wrote in the deleted post, according to court documents. “Use my promo code KJONFYRE for the next 24 hours to get on the list for the artists and talents afterparty on Fyre Cay.”
Also, according to Forbes, the lawsuit alleges that the model “intentionally led certain members of the public and ticket purchasers to believe” her brother-in-law Kanye West, G.O.O.D’s founder, could attend or perform at the festival.
Jenner denied any liability connected to the lawsuit, according to court documents. This settlement will require a judge’s approval.
Kendall Jenner isn’t the only celeb that was attached to this festival. Ja Rule, Pusha T, and many more influencers were also said to be attached to the event.
Initially, the event was supposed to be this huge luxurious festival created by Billy McFarland. Folks paid between $5,000-$250,000 to attend. Chile, when they got there, these folks were reportedly sleeping in wet tents and were essentially stuck on an island.
Needless to say folks did not get what they paid for, Roomies.
