Kel Mitchell is updating fans on his condition and sharing more information about his recent hospitalization. As The Shade Room previously reported, Mitchell was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital on Tuesday, November 7.
Mitchell returned to Instagram over the weekend to share a video post with his fans. In the video, Mitchell explained that he was back at home and “good” but wanted to let fans know what happened the day of his hospitalization.
The 45-year-old explained that on November 7, he was out shopping when suddenly he felt “the whole room started spinning.” The actor assumed that he may have been dehydrated and then went to get water and food.
However, the father of four then became alarmed when “the whole right side” of his arm and leg went “numb.” Additionally, the actor noted that he wasn’t able to swallow.
“And that’s when I panicked. And so, I drove myself to the hospital — I wouldn’t advise anybody to do that, but I was panicking…,” Mitchell explained. “Went in the ER — I failed the arm and leg test, so that was raising fears of like something more serious because I could not move my right arm [and] my motor skills were not working.”
Mitchell explained that hospital staff performed CTC scans and EKG tests on him. Although the actor remained hospitalized overnight, he ultimately received relieving news.
“What we feared wasn’t what it was,” Mitchell told fans. “It was actually a bulging disk that I had from a prior injury that was pressing up against a nerve [and] mimicking all those symptoms that I was going through.”
As Mitchell’s video message continued, he shared gratitude for the “prayers and comments” he received from fans. Additionally, he thanked his wife for being “amazing,” as well as his kids and “entire family” for their support.
Additionally, the 45-year-old explained that “a lot of Good Burger content” is on its way. As The Shade Room previously reported, Mitchell is working with fellow actor Kenan Thompson on a sequel for the fan-favorite 1997 ‘Good Burger’ film.
