Kel Recalls Incident With Dan Schneider
While appearing on Keke Palmer’s podcast, ‘Baby This is Keke Palmer,’ Kel Mitchell recalled an intense encounter that he had with Dan Schneider. Kel explained that the ‘All That’ production team’s numerous changes caused friction between him and Schneider.
“The vibe of the show started to change a little bit. Brian Robbins started to do ‘Varsity Blues’ and all these different movies and the production team started to blow up, so they left. And they left us with the head writer, Dan Schneider. So he’s writing, and me and him kind of bump heads a little bit.”
Kel further revealed that their constant disagreements eventually escalated into a heated argument, resulting in Schneider yelling at him.
“I remember me and Dan had a big argument on set. He was like, ‘Let’s go over here to this room right here, in this closet.’ He closed the door and he just took off, you know, just yelling all this wild stuff.”
According to PEOPLE, Kel was just 18 or 19 years old when he realized he had to decide whether to keep working with Schneider.
“Being an adult at this point, I had a decision to make, you know what I mean? I was just like, okay, either we are going to fight or either I’m going to leave. And so that’s what I did. I left the situation.”
Variety reports that Kel was a part of the original cast of ‘All That,’ which premiered on Nickelodeon in 1994. He starred in ‘All That’ for five seasons and eventually began co-starring in ‘Kenan & Kel’ with Kenan Thompson in 1996.

Dan Schneider Sues ‘Quiet On Set’
According to AP News, Dan Schneider filed a lawsuit against the makers of ‘Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,’ shortly after its premiere in March.
The former television producer and screenwriter claimed that the creators of the documentary series falsely insinuated that he had sexually abused the child actors that he worked with.
Schneider initiated the defamation lawsuit against Warner Bros. Discovery and other companies responsible for the series in the Los Angeles Superior Court. However, Schneider, who left Nickelodeon in 2018, stated in the lawsuit that the ‘Quiet on Set’ trailer and episodes of the show intentionally combine images and references to him with those of criminal sexual abusers, implying his involvement.
