To be clear, the actor did not clarify who his ex-wife is. However, public records show he was formally married to a woman named Tyisha Hampton from 1999 to 2005. He wed Asia Lee in 2012, and they’re still together.
Kel Mitchell Alleges Ex-Wife Was A Serial Cheater
Mitchell said he found out about one of the infidelity-induced pregnancies after he and his ex-wife had their own child.
“We had the abortion, but then we had a baby, and she ended up telling me that the baby that was aborted wasn’t mine,” Mitchell alleged.
After that revelation, Kel Mitchell agreed with Shannon that his former marriage was never the same. He added that this all went down “at the beginning” of the union.
Meanwhile, Kel was at the height of his early acting career during that early 2000s period. He had starred in popular shows like ‘Kenan & Kel,’ ‘All That,’ ‘Cousin Skeeter,’ and the movie, ‘Good Burger.’ Because of his busy schedule, Mitchell admits he didn’t “have time to really process” his ex-wife’s infidelity.
“It was a lot, it was other times she had gotten pregnant,” Kel Mitchell said, confirming his ex-wife got pregnant more than once.

For context, Kel has four children: two with his ex-wife, Tyisha, named Lyric and Allure, and two with Asia Lee, named Wisdom and Honor.
Actor Explains How He Learned About His Ex-Wife’s Sneaky Links
Mitchell set the scene for Shannon while explaining how he learned about one of the pregnancies. He shared that he “knew what was going on” because his ex-wife had “stopped coming home.”
“This was back then; we are praying for her now,” the trained pastor said.
In one situation, Kel Mitchell claimed that his ex got with one of her friends who used to visit their home while he worked a lot. One evening, he decided to go out and look for Hampton and ended up spotting her car at a hotel. When he walked into the lobby, the same “friend” was walking through it, headed to the car his ex-wife was driving.
Mitchell confronted him and demanded to be taken to the room his ex was in. The man complied, and Kel said his ex was shocked. Ultimately, he said he peeped the situation and left, refusing to fight for her after everything they’d already been through.
But once at his car, he went back to the room, saying he “felt disrespected.” Police were eventually called, and one cop recommended he “get out” of the situation. But Mitchell said he stuck around, “trying to make it work for the kids.”
Sometime after, his ex-wife landed in the hospital, and while there, the doctor told the former couple that she had “lost the baby.” Mitchell said he was sure the baby wasn’t his.
“I wasn’t telling my parents, my family what was going on,” he said.
He filed for divorce in 2005 after his ex-wife called him in 2004 asking to be with another man while he was away working. At that point, he wanted to hit the “reset” button after realizing his marriage was nothing like the love story he had envisioned.
Elsewhere in the interview, he opened up about finding forgiveness for his wife and how that renewed his trust in God.
