After years of asking and cancellations, superstar Kanye West finally honored nighttime talk show host James Corden’s request to join him on his Emmy-winning Carpool Karaoke segment. However, Kanye always goes against the grain and flipped the concept to be as grand and memorable as possible.
Sure, you’re familiar with Carpool Karaoke, but you’ve never heard of Airpool Karaoke…until now. Fresh off his number one-selling album and IMAX film “Jesus Is King,” Kanye West finally stopped by “The Late Late Show with James Corden” and gave a performance of his iconic hit “Jesus Walks” that has spread like wildfire online.
Backed by his enormous choir, who also regularly assist him with his Sunday Service concerts, Ye spit “Jesus Walks” flawlessly—and James Corden even helped out a little bit with some background adlibs.
However, that wasn’t all Kanye wanted to share on the show, as he also discussed his recommitment to his Christian faith, saying:
“When I went to the hospital a few years ago, I wrote in the hospital ‘Start a church in Calabasas.’ It’s something that I had a feeling that I needed to do that God put on my heart and now he just keeps on taking me to new levels and us to other levels that we didn’t even imagine before.”
Yeezy also credits God with his increasing bank account, explaining:
“Last year, I made $115 million and still ended up $35 million in debt. This year, I looked up and I got $68 million returned to me on my tax returns . . . People need to hear someone that has been put into debt by the system talk about these types of numbers now that they’re in service to Christ.”
If you can’t get enough Kanye and are ready to experience the “Jesus Is King” album live, you’re in luck because he’s reportedly headed on a world tour as soon as possible.
Roommates, what are your thoughts on this?
