Kanye West released his song, “Facts” not too long ago and there was a line in the song that people took as a diss to Lebron James.
The line was, “Nike, Nike treat employees just like slaves // Gave LeBron a billi’ not to run away”. To our interpretation, as well as the public, he was implying that Lebron was a slave to the Nike Corporation. Seems clear as day right?
When Lebron James was asked what he felt about the song on Monday he said (according to ESPN ) “I haven’t really listened to it. I heard about it but I haven’t listened to it. Obviously I’m going to side with Nike no matter who it is. It’s just, it’s family when you talk about Nike, and I’m always on their side no matter what the situation is, so. We don’t look upon nobody on our side, we just try to put the best athletes that we can out on the floor every night.”
Kanye West took to Twitter to respond to the allegations that he dissed Lebron James in his song:
Kanye claimed he wasn’t dissing Lebron and blamed it on the media. To us, it sounded like he was calling Lebron a slave to Nike and we can’t take it any other way!
