Is social media ready for a social Christian app? It seems Kanye West has it in mind to create one after admitting he was “disturbed” by the videos he saw on TikTok.
At least in his music, Kanye’s focus has been on spirituality and songs about Jesus. Well now it seems he’s ready to take his love for Jesus to the tech world for some wholesome content.
Kanye revealed that while being on daddy duties with his daughter watching TikTok videos, he was inspired with a vision for something holier.
“A VISION JUST CAME TO ME…JESUS TOK. I WAS WATCHING TIK TOK WITH MY DAUGHTER AND AS A CHRISTIAN FATHER I WAS DISTURBED BY A LOT OF THE CONTENT BUT I COMPLETELY LOVED THE TECHNOLOGY,” Kanye tweeted.
It seems Kanye is motivated by his own children to create such an app as he said he wants to make social media safer for the babies.
“WE PRAY WE CAN COLLABORATE WITH TIK TOK TO MAKE A CHRISTIAN MONITORED VERSION THAT FEELS SAFE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN AND THE WORLD…IN JESUS NAME AMEN,” Ye said in a second tweet.
This may be an opportune time for Kanye to create something of his own in the form of a TikTok-like model as the popular app is currently at risk of being shut down.
For those who may need a reminder, the Trump administration has threatened to shut TikTok down by September 15th if it fails to find an American buyer. The app is currently owned by the Chinese company ByteDance.
So far, it was revealed that Microsoft may be working out a deal to buy the app but nothing has come to fruition.
It seems the company’s leadership is doing what they can to fight Trump on the potential ban. We’ll keep you posted on any updates including when and if “Jesus Tok” becomes a real thing.
