Kanye West’s Donda Academy is reportedly being sued for allegedly following “unlawful education practices.” According to TMZ, Ye and his private Christian school are being sued by two Black women.
The women allege that they were fired as teachers from the school for multiple reasons. This reportedly includes retaliation for being a whistleblower on alleged education, health, and safety code violations. The women also believe that they were unfairly fired because of their race.
According to the women, they were hired full-time at Donda Academy earlier this year. They allege that they were the only Black teachers employed by the school.
During their time at the academy, the women allegedly noticed numerous violations. One violation cited was that the only lunch option for students was sushi — every day. Also, students cannot bring outside food or drink into the school.
The lawsuit, reportedly obtained by the outlet, shows that Kanye spends $10,000 on sushi per week.
The teachers said that Kanye does not allow crossword puzzles or coloring sheets at the school and that classes could not be held on the second floor because Kanye is “afraid of stairs.”
The suit says that everyone at the academy must wear all-black clothing from head to toe. Additionally, Adidas And Nike clothing items were forbidden.
It also claims the school doesn’t have a janitor or a nurse and that there are no trashcans outside classrooms or the kitchen. The two teachers say student medications were stored in a closet, with other expired medications left unsecured.
