Congrats are in order for Kandi Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker. She announced Friday night that the pair welcomed their second child, a baby girl, via surrogate.
They named their new bundle of joy, Blaze Tucker!
The announcement was made via mass text message alert, which thousands of Kandi’s fans had signed up for to get the latest on Kandi and her life.
In addition to the good news, Kandi shared a message and a small glimpse of her and Todd’s new baby girl.
“She’s here! Blaze Tucker born at 6:54 pm on 11-22-19 weighing 8lbs 0 1 oz. I’m so thankful to add another healthy, beautiful, baby girl to the family!” the message read.
Kandi Burruss even stepped into The Shade Room to let fans know about her excitement.
“We’re so in love!” Kandi said.
Baby Blaze will make Kandi and Todd’s second child. They have a total of four children now between them, two of which are from previous relationships, and their son Ace.
Earlier this month, Kandi revealed to People that her surrogate had been carrying twins, but unfortunately she lost one. She said, “We actually was supposed to be having twins, and then one of them didn’t continue. I was sad at first, but then I just had to be grateful that the one made it.”
Kandi further talked about having a baby via surrogate. “I just feel like this whole situation is strange. I don’t get to be excited about the first kick. I don’t get to be excited about, ‘Oh now my baby bump is showing.’ I don’t get to be excited even about my boobs filling up with milk.”
She added, “You have this guilt [and] sadness, so it’s a joyous, yet interesting experience.”
After having a high risk-pregnancy with her son Ace, and also a history of fibroids, Kandi started to explore the option of having a surrogate, and during the 11th season of RHOA, viewers were able to see Kandi and Todd discuss the option of having a surrogate for their next child.
Congrats again to the couple on their healthy baby!
