Last Sunday, singer #JustinTimberlake headlined the #SuperBowl halftime show. Having just released his fifth studio album #ManOfTheWoods just two days prior, the performance unfortunately did not help to boost sales.
According to #HitsDailyDouble, ‘Man Of The Woods’ only sold about 296K units–roughly 242K of which are reportedly pure sales. Thankfully, his album still came in at #1 earning him his fifth #1 album!
So, why the unexpected turnout? Well, it is speculated that the Ghost of Super Bowl’s Past had haunted JT’s campaign. Social media dredged up the “Nipplegate” incident involving himself and superstar #JanetJackson from back in 2004 and it seemingly had an effect on the way his fans perceived him.
Im old enough to remember #NippleGate. Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson performed at the Super Bowl. There was a "wardrobe malfunction." They pilloried Janet and only Janet. Her career never recovered after that. JT meanwhile gets to perform again. All of that is wrong.

Let’s get this over with.
Justin Timberlake had 14 years to do right by Janet Jackson and apologize publicly. FOURTEEN. He did not have to go to the grammy’s in 2004. He did not have to make that diss track in 2006. He did not have to do the SuperBowl this year.

This is all very unfortunate, because I actually really liked this album although I don’t believe it’s his best. What are your thoughts, Roommates?!
