Details On Justin Timberlake’s Arrest

TMZ confirmed that the Sag Harbor Police Department (SHPD) took Justin into custody last night. Their initial report claimed that the arrest was likely for driving while intoxicated (DWI). A Sag Harbor justice court official had offered the same information to local outlet News 12 Westchester.

The singer’s arrangement took place this morning, reportedly at 9:30 a.m. local time, per News 12 Westchester. Note that both outlets were correct in their reporting about the cause of the arrest.

Prosecutors charged Justin Timberlake with one DWI count and cited him for running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane, per TMZ.

TMZ’s sources also provided additional details on the arrest. On Monday night, the singer reportedly pulled up to the American Hotel to enjoy an evening with friends.

He allegedly dipped out in his car around 12:30 a.m., but local police later pulled him over after noting that he ran a stop sign and was swerving in and out of his lane.

The traffic stop cops observed him with glassy eyes and a heavy alcohol smell on his breath. He allegedly refused to take a breathalyzer test after a field sobriety test.

What Happens Next?

TMZ reports that Justin Timberlake’s friends joined him after the cops pulled him over. They allegedly tried to convince the cops to let JT slide, but the Sag Harbor officers refused. They handcuffed him and took him into custody.

Following his arraignment, Justin was released without bail. His next court date is reportedly scheduled for July 26, but the artist has a show in Kraków, Poland, on the same day.

It’s unclear if he will file a motion to push the hearing back, but criminal defense lawyer Ed Burke Jr. is currently representing the star.

Timberlake has not publicly addressed the arrest on his social platforms.
