Roommates, we grew up watching one of the most legendary judges out, and after 25 years, we won’t be getting any new cases to stand before the one and only Judge Judy!
Judge Judy Sheindlin tells Ellen that the 2020-2021 season of ‘Judge Judy’ will beg the last! The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the show will end production after next season, which happens to be its 25th season.
“I’ve had a 25-year-long marriage with CBS Television, and it’s bee successful,” she said. “Next year will be our 25th season, silver anniversary, and CBS sort of felt, I think they wanted to optimally utilize the repeats of my program. Because now they have 25 years of reruns. So what they decided to do was to sell a couple of years’ worth of reruns. But I’m not tired, so ‘Judy Justice’ will be coming out a year later.”
As of now, Judy is preparing for her new show ‘Judy Justice’, which she did not go into detail about. She does say, however, that fans will be able to enjoy reruns of all of the episodes recorded over the past 25 years.
“Judge Judy, you’ll be able to see next year–a full year, all new shows… The following couple of years, you should be able to catch all the reruns that CBS has sold to the stations that are currently carrying ‘Judge Judy’, and ‘Judy Justice’ will be going elsewhere. Isn’t that fun?
As of now, Jude Judy is the highest paid personality on television, earning $47 million a year! ‘Judge Judy’ also ranks as one of the top-rated syndicated programs, averting roughly 9 million viewers a day. It’s also TV’s most-watched court show.
While we may have enjoyed Judge Judy snarky remarks to folks trying cases on her show, our mommas and grannies will sure be disappointed that she went be gracing out screens with any new episodes!
