Jordan Chiles Gets Encouraging Messages From Icons

Jordan Chiles has two A-list fans eagerly supporting her as she prepares to compete in the Paris Olympics.

On Thursday, July 18, Jordan shared an exciting message from Beyoncé on her Instagram Stories. Queen Bey sent the gymnast a plaque featuring her ‘Cowboy Carter’ album cover art.

The framed album cover included a heartfelt note from Beyoncé, written in silver marker, wishing Chiles good luck and sending prayers for her success in the competition.

Congrats to you Queen. Always watch you with pride and admiration. Thank you for reppin’ us. Good luck to you,” Beyoncé wrote. At the bottom of the plaque, the singer added, “All of your hard work and sacrifice shines bright. Praying for you and wishing you the best. Love, your twin Beyoncé.

Jordan captioned the video, sharing her amazement and disbelief at receiving a gift from Beyoncé writing, “Ahhhh!! I’m screaming right now!! Y’all Beyonce sent me this and I’m crying,”

As if a gift and message from Beyoncé wasn’t enough, Chiles also received encouraging words from an NBA legend.

In another Instagram Story post, the 23-year-old athlete shared a screenshot of a text message from Michael Jordan. MJ’s text read, “Hey Jordan, this is Michael Jordan. I am so excited to watch you win a gold medal Here’s to wishing you nothing but good luck,” alongside a four leaf clover emoji.

In the message the NBA champion also proposed that he and Jordan “catch up” after the Olympics and added “Hope to see you soon.” Michael Jordan humorously ended the message with, “Btw love the name.”

Jordan responded to the MJ’s text message by captioning the screenshot with, “Y’all ain’t going to believe this one either…the Michael Jordan!!! My Olympic experience is only beginning, and I thank God everyday!!

PEOPLE reports that Chiles’ message from Michael Jordan is especially significant, because her first name was inspired by the basketball icon. In April 2023, Jordan told the outlet that her mom has always been a fan of him ever since she was young.

“She felt the inspiration that he gave to her, and that was just a really huge and beautiful thing. She just decided, You know what? I’m going to make my child after him and see where life takes her,” Jordan explained.

More Details On Jordan Participation In The Olympics

According to ELLE, Jordan Chiles made history in 2021 by becoming the first woman to win the all-around title at the Winter Cup. She also secured first place on vault and floor, second on beam, and fourth on bars.

In 2021, she finished second at the U.S. Classic behind Simone Biles and Suni Lee, earning a spot on both the national and Olympic teams for the Tokyo Summer Games.

Per Elle, Chiles is now focused on the Paris Games and eager to make a comeback.

“It took me a while to really focus on the fact that this was something I wanted to do. I want to prove to the world that Tokyo was not my 100 percent. I feel like I can go out there and be me. I don’t have anything to prove. I’m not going to regret anything. I don’t doubt myself. I am always going to be an Olympian. I’m going to go out there and be the best Jordan I can be,” Chiles said.
