The family of Jonathan Price, 31, is currently mourning his passing after he was fatally shot by a police officer on Saturday. His family says he tried to help stop a domestic violence incident from happening at a local gas station.
According to WFAA, the shooting is being investigated by the Texas Rangers and officials say the police officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave.
According to CBS News, Lee Merritt, who is representing Price’s family said, “When police arrived, I’m told, he raised his hands and attempted to explain what was going on Police fired tasers at him and when his body convulsed from the electrical current, they ‘perceived a threat’ and shot him to death.”
Price’s mother, Marcella Louis, spoke with WFAA about Jonathan and said, “They wouldn’t let me get close to my baby. I just wanted to hold his hands. They wouldn’t let me do that. They took my son from me. They took my baby.”
His sister, April Louis also added, “Everybody loved Jonathan. Everybody. Black, white, Mexican, it doesn’t matter. He loved everybody. Everybody loved him.”
