Jon B Speaks On Chloe Bailey & Gunna’s ‘You & Me’ Single

On Wednesday, July 31, the “Can We Talk RNB” podcast released a 5-minute clip from an interview with the singer via YouTube. In the clip, B and the host spoke about his 1997 single still having them in a “chokehold.”

As the conversation continued, B compared his hit single, which featured repetitive guitar chords, to a recently released single from Robin Thicke, which he said utilizes similar chords.

B remarked that he loves Thicke’s song despite the noticeable similarity. However, he also noted that ‘They Don’t Know’ gets sampled frequently. From there, he went on to reference Bailey and Gunna’s ‘You & Me.’

“They put that ratchet record out that I couldn’t stand, and I wish they never did,” B explained.

At that point, B alleged that Gunna and Chloe Bailey “never” received his approval to sample the record. Therefore, he plans to speak to Gunna about his and Bailey’s song.

Ultimately, the singer explained that he knows their sampling of his record is them paying homage. However, he believes that he’s “earned” his own lane.

“But at the same time, my lane is my lane, and my area is my area, and I earned that. Just like if you made a hit in your area…  I’m not just gonna come into your area and take your joint and make it mine and then not pay you.”

B seemingly explained he’s been “humble” amid his time in the industry. However, he could behave like Katt Williams and call other artists out for the alleged missteps they made by him.
