Joie Chavis has responded to negative comments about her weight gain amid her latest pregnancy.
On Thursday, June 27, Chavis took to Instagram to share a video of herself dancing in a studio. In the clip, the mother donned a gray bralette, leggings, a T-shirt, and heels.
In the caption of her clip, Chavis wrote, “Big mama 🤰🏽 🥹 💞 I have never danced in a heels class in my 3rd trimester so this was def a challenge…”
Social media users entered The Shade Room’s comment section to share reactions. Many applauded the mother for her fitness and being able to move so seamlessly while in her third trimester.
Instagram user @prettyblkjam wrote, “Listen, i can’t walk in heels without a baby in me, so no hate from me 😂”
However, other users shared remarks on Chavis’ weight.
On Friday, June 28, Chavis took to her Instagram Story to repost her dancing video and address the comments about her weight.
“This felt so good,” she wrote. “The ‘she got big comments’ are sending me lol. This is exactly why I hid after 6 months with my other pregnancies because of ‘insensitive’ comments like that. Because of that I have no pictures/videos etc. this far along in my previous pregnancies…
Chavis explained that she was “so self-conscious” during her previous pregnancies. But now, she doesn’t “care anymore.”
“I let my body do what it does and worry about it later,” she explained. “It’s never easy for me but I’m grateful I can create life and still do the best I can to stay active…”
Before concluding her message, Chavis thanked others for their “sweet comments” and explained that she made sure to be “careful” and control her movements while filming her latest dance video.
As The Shade Room previously reported, the 35-year-old revealed her pregnancy in March. At the time, fans began to speculate that the father of Chavis’ third child is 25-year-old NFL player Trevon Diggs.
Chavis did not confirm or deny the speculation related to Diggs via social media. However, later that month, she did take to the platform to reveal that she is expecting a baby girl.
Additionally, Chavis also took the time to clap back at some social media users who criticized her for her three kids seemingly having separate fathers, per The Shade Room.
