It’s been two days since the incident with Will Smith and Chris Rock at the Oscars, and folks haven’t stopped talking about it yet. Today comedian Jim Carrey shared his two cents about the incident and had a lot to say that raised eyebrows. The comedian spoke with Gayle King in a CBS Mornings interview and said he was “sickened by the standing ovation” Will received.
“Hollywood is just spineless en masse, and it really felt like this is a really clear indication that we aren’t the cool club anymore,” Jim said about the audience’s warm reception for Will. Jim wasn’t finished with his opinion there. He and Gayle also talked about Chris not pressing charges against Will. Jim was vocal that he would’ve taken another route if it were him in the situation. “I’d have announced this morning that I was suing Will for $200 million because that video is going to be there forever. It’s going to be ubiquitous,” Jim stated.

“That insult is gonna last a very long time,” he continued. “If you want to yell from the audience and show disapproval or say something on Twitter [, that’s OK, but] you do not have the right to walk up on stage and smack somebody in the face ’cause they said words.” Although everyone has shared their opinion about Will, the Roommates seemed upset that Gayle interviewed Jim.
Rapper Mysonneny General stepped into The Shade Room and commented, “Gayle, you gotta be kidding me!!! Foreal?? You just can’t stay on Code for s**t!! You went and Got the White Man’s opinion?? You can’t make this s**t up!!”
Another Roommate commented, “Listen, listen, Gayle, we don’t need you.” Drop a comment and let us know what you think of Jim’s words.
