Jermaine Dupri has been named as one of the inductees for the 2018 Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.
According to Billboard, his induction will come one year after Jay-Z became one the first rapper to ever be inducted into the hall of fame.
Throughout the years, he’s been racking up both songwriting and producing credit as he worked with some of music biggest stars including Mariah Carey, Usher, Xscape, Monica and many others.
Songwriters become eligible to be inducted after they have been writing songs for at least 20 years. Jermaine Dupri launched his So So Def record label back in 1993, launching the career of many artists and setting tone for the music scene both inside and outside of Atlanta.
Dupri took to his Instagram to celebrate and said, “I can’t f*cking believe this.”
The 2018 Songwriter’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on June 14th in New York City.
