Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are raising questions about the status of their marriage amid a decrease in their public outings together. The most recent sighting of the couple was this past Sunday.
However, according to PEOPLE, May 19 was the second time Ben and J. Lo have been seen in public together in the last week. The first time after 47 days was on May 17. Before that, they reportedly hadn’t been spotted since March 30.
The couple married in July 2022 — three months after revealing their engagement. Their rekindled relationship shook Bennifer fans, who had been calling for a lil’ reunion since their split in 2004.
The reports about Jennifer and Ben have been back-to-back this last week. Between PEOPLE and TMZ, the photos and sources paint a picture of a possibly estranged marriage.
For example, on May 17, PEOPLE reported that a source confirmed Ben’s absence from their marital home. They also reportedly did not spend Mother’s Day together. He’s been allegedly staying at another one of their properties while filming ‘The Accountant 2,’ coming and going and definitely staying the night.
TMZ had a similar report about their alleged separate living on May 16. Then, on May 18, TMZ also shared photos of Ben Affleck in his car, seemingly without his wedding band on.
However, on Sunday, May 19, photos surfaced of the couple riding together. Affleck scooped his wife from the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, California, and paparazzi caught them sitting in traffic.
A source told PEOPLE they were BOTH wearing their wedding rings on Sunday.
Neither of the pair’s reps has responded to requests for comment from reporting outlets.
Meanwhile, sources in their circle can’t seem to stop chatting about what’s going on behind closed doors! PEOPLE insists that “multiple sources” told them Bennifer are strained and drained, chile!
“They just have very different approaches when it comes to media attention. Ben hates all attention and it makes him very uncomfortable. Jennifer has always had a different approach,” one insider says, per PEOPLE.
Still, let’s not forget that Jenny was just bragging about how her man rides for her career in February! So, this could be a case of two booked and busy superstars making marriage and career work.
We’ll have to wait to ultimately see what’s the tea! In the meantime, thoughts, roommates?
