TS RHealth: Roommates, while Amazon is working to fulfill its surplus in orders, Jeff Bezos is also working to ensure the health of the company’s employees.
According to CNN, Amazon has started to develop a coronavirus test for its employees, which he says will also help restart the economy.
In his annual letter to shareholders, Jeff says the testing is needed to “both help keep people safe and help get the economy back up and running.” He says in order for that to happen, the country needs “vastly more testing capacity” than it currently has.
Bezos has assembled a team of Amazon employees to create the new COVID-19 tests. He said Amazon will being testing “small number” of employees soon.
“We are not sure how far we will get in the relevant the frame, but we think it’s worth trying, and we stand ready to share anything we learn.” he wrote.
As we’ve previously reported, Amazon stocks have shot up in value, and are reported now worth $1.1 trillion due to the surge in orders. The company is also planning to hire an addition 75,000 employees.
