Jeezy has reportedly amended his custody request regarding the 2-year-old daughter he shares with his estranged wife, Jeannie Mai.
According to TMZ, Jeezy is now requesting primary custody of his and Mai’s 2-year-old daughter, Monaco. Court documents, reportedly obtained by the outlet, assert that the rapper is asking an Atlanta judge “to toss out the current custody and parenting time arrangement” he and Mai recently decided on in mediation.
Instead, the rapper is asking the judge to rule that Monaco can live with him full-time.
Additionally, Jeezy reportedly alleges that “Jeannie isn’t even taking care of their kid herself.”
The rapper asserts that initially, he and Mai shared their home amid his recent divorce filing. He decided to move his living area to the basement. However, since then, Mai has left the residence with Monaco.
Additionally, Jeezy says Mai has “tasked her brother and mother with the majority of the care” for their daughter.
The rapper is asserting that Mai’s “extensive travel schedule” isn’t in their daughter’s best interest. Furthermore, he reportedly alleges that Mai has “withheld his parenting time” with Monaco for almost two months.
Ultimately, Jeezy is asserting that Monaco will have more stability in her life if he is given full custody.
As The Shade Room previously reported, Jeezy filed for divorce from Mai in September 2023. The couple had been married for two years at the time.
Additionally, the rapper asserted that their union was “irretrievably broken” with “no hope for reconciliation.” Furthermore, the 46-year-old requested that he and Mai share joint custody of their daughter.
Almost a month after Jeezy’s filing, Mai reacted on social media with a cryptic post.
In December 2023, Jeezy and Mai’s divorce proceedings appeared to become more intense. At the time, Mai accused Jeezy of being unfaithful during their marriage, per The Shade Room.
Consequently, Mai reportedly alleged Jeezy would have to face a “significant financial penalty” due to the terms of their prenuptial agreement.
In return, a spokesperson for the rapper denied Mai’s accusations, per The Shade Room.
Additionally, weeks later, Jeezy requested a court hearing to determine temporary custody of Monaco. At the time, the rapper alleged Mai was “gatekeeping” their daughter and keeping her from him on a “consistent basis.”
In turn, Mai denied Jeezy’s claims and voiced concern over him allegedly keeping unlocked firearms at his residence, per The Shade Room.
Additionally, Mai voiced her desire for mediation sessions with the rapper so the two could determine a temporary custody schedule for Monaco.
Most recently, the mother of one reportedly returned to court to seemingly change her tune on the judge enforcing her prenuptial agreement with Jeezy.
