Jeezy has reportedly filed a new custody motion days after requesting primary custody of his daughter shared with Jeannie Mai.
According to TMZ, the outlet obtained a “new motion” filed by Jeezy. Entertainment Tonight adds that the new filing “clarifies” Jeezy’s request regarding the custody of his and Mai’s 2-year-old daughter, Monaco.
The outlet reports that Jeezy made the new filing on Tuesday, April 16. Additionally, the rapper is now asking for him and Mai to “share joint legal custody and joint physical custody of the minor child.”
Furthermore, the rapper would like a “specific parenting time schedule” to be “determined by the Court consistent with the best interest of the minor child.”
In the filing, Jeezy reportedly noted that he and Mai previously determined a custody schedule for their daughter. However, it “broke down” earlier this year. In addition, Jeezy is accusing Mai of blocking his number, preventing him from speaking to Monaco.
The rapper reportedly asserts that he “really has not had any significant parenting with the minor child all year.”
Social media users reacted to Jeezy amending his custody filing in The Shade Room’s comment section.
As The Shade Room previously reported, Jeezy filed for divorce from Mai in September 2023. In December of that year, Mai accused Jeezy of being unfaithful during their union.
Additionally, the former talk show host alleged he violated the terms of their prenuptial agreement and would have to face a “significant financial penalty.”
In response, a lawyer for Jeezy denied Mai’s allegations against the rapper, per The Shade Room.
However, later that month, Jeezy accused Mai of “gatekeeping” their daughter and refraining her from seeing him “on a consistent basis,” per The Shade Room. In response, Mai denied Jeezy’s allegations and accused the rapper of keeping unlocked firearms around Monaco.
“…Ms. Jenkins’ insistence on reasonable safety measures being put in place, such as safely securing and locking away all firearms that have been unsecured in the past, as well as having familiarity and properly trained caregivers is absolutely not gatekeeping, but rather a responsible effort to prioritize their daughter’s well-being,” Mai’s response filing reportedly read, per TMZ.
At the time, Mai requested that the court send her and Jeezy to mediation so they could sort out a temporary custody schedule for Monaco.
Earlier this month, Jeezy acknowledged the mediation sessions between him and Mai. However, he alleged Mai was still keeping his daughter from seeing him consistently and filed a request for primary custody of the child.
At the time, the rapper also alleged Mai was not properly taking care of their daughter due to her constant travel schedule and alleged he “does not know where [Jeannie] is living with” Monaco, per Entertainment Tonight.
Furthermore, when the rapper reportedly saw Monaco earlier this month, he alleged she was “lethargic, appeared to be exhausted, and seemed to be underweight.”
