Mahelt stated that she has “witnessed Jay be a devoted, caring and present Father to [their] daughter and his oldest child [Jadarius Jenkins, 28].”
Note that Hip Hop DX reports Mahi sued Jeezy in 2020 for back child support. The rapper then claimed that she was merely jealous that he proposed to Jeannie. Gebremedhin stated she filed before their engagement was announced. Additionally, she said Jeezy was on a “path of vitriol, lies and slander” to distract from his deplorable actions.
In the affidavit, the couple’s nanny, Minhee Hoffler, praised Jeezy’s parenting. “Mr Jenkins is a hardworking person, but even a more hardworking dad,”Hoffler wrote.
She added, “…as a caretaker I believe Mr. Jenkins gives his daughter the support they need as they grow into young women in the future.
The rapper’s friend, Robyn Wallace, and wife of his “close friend and real estate broker,” Shelley Nichols, also submitted similar character descriptions.

Meanwhile, Jeannie Mai’s rep had this to say about the character defenses:
“It seems Mr. Jenkins is trying to distort the truth once more by employing people to file false statements and claims against Ms. Mai, attempting to contradict real-time evidence and factual events,” Jeannie’s rep stated.
As previously reported by The Shade Room, Jeannie accused the rapper of punching her in the face just three weeks after giving birth. They share a two-year-old daughter, Monaco. She added that Jeezy allegedly choked and pushed her down the stairs.
Jeezy denied the allegations and released a statement. “The allegations are not only false but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved. This malicious intent to tarnish my character and disrupt my family is ridiculous. It’s disheartening to witness the manipulation and deceit at play…”
